AMERICAN GRADUATE: LET’S MAKE IT HAPPEN

– The high school graduation rate in the United States has reached a record high 81%.
– Louisiana’s high school graduation rate now stands at 74.6% (2014)
– America climbed from a modern low 71.7% high school graduation rate in 2001 to cross the 80% mark for the first time in 2012.
– If the nation continues this rate of high school graduation rate improvement, the U.S. is on pace for the Class of 2020 to hit the 90% mark.

WYES is part of American Graduate: Let’s Make it Happen, a public media initiative made possible by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to help communities across America find solutions to address the dropout crisis.
