Join Harrah's and WYES for a Pre-Screening of FRONTLINE "Caring for your Parents"

On Monday, March 31, the Harrah's Foundation, in conjunction with WYES-TV/New Orleans,
will host a pre-screening of the documentary “Caring for Your Parents.” Written, produced
and directed by Michael Kirk, award-winning director/writer/producer of more than thirty
documentaries for PBS's widely-acclaimed FRONTLINE series, “Caring for Your Parents”
follows five American families as they struggle with the day-to-day joys and hardships of
caring for their aging parents. Click here to enter the “Caring for Your Parents” Web site
and to watch a 3-minute trailer of the program.
Resource information will be distributed by representatives from several aging services
organizations, including AARP, the National Association of Social Workers and the Council
on Aging, before and after the screening.
The event will feature a sneak preview of the documentary at 6:00 p.m., followed by
a panel discussion of the film and care-giving issues, particularly as they impact
Louisiana residents.
The panel will feature local experts in areas of elder care and aging, and will be moderated
by State Senator Sharon Westin Broome, author of the Kinship Care Subsidy Act. Our panelists include:
