Group
volunteers answer phone calls from people making contributions to
support
WYES
during Membership Drives.

Members
of a group, organization or business.
Family
and friends of group members.
Anyone
age 16 or older.
Membership
Drives usually have 12 volunteers per shift.
Your group needs to have at least 6 people.
|
|

Membership
Drives have shifts that are three to five hours long.
They are on weekday evenings and weekend days & evenings.
|
|

Before
you schedule your group, make sure there is enough interest to fulfill
your commitment.
One
member of the group will serve as the group organizer, the liaison
between WYES and your group.
|
|

To
provide your group with a positive experience.
We
will provide an information sheet for each volunteer.
WYES
Shift Captains will assist you when you arrive with sign in,
orientation, serving refreshments and answering questions.
|
|

When
your group arrives you will be given an orientation.
There
will be 3 to 5 live pledge breaks during your shift. The breaks last
about ten minutes and occur about every half hour.
Between
breaks, volunteers will enjoy snacks and can socialize and watch the
program.
|
|

We
encourage volunteers to wear shirts or caps to advertise their group.
Wear
comfortable clothing. Jeans and shorts are okay.
Occasionally,
groups may be asked to dress up for a special program or benefit.

|

Your
group will receive on-air recognition that has the potential of reaching
1 million viewers in Southeast Louisiana and the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
You
will receive visibility and an identity as a community supporter.
You
will build team spirit in your group.
You
will have fun!

Groups
are scheduled in the order the information forms are received.
Scheduling
occurs when the program is determined.
You
will be contacted by WYES with specific scheduling information.
