Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill The Deepwater Horizon Natural Resource Damage Assessment Trustees are holding three public meetings in Louisiana to provide an opportunity for the public to submit comments regarding the Draft Phase I Early Restoration Plan. You are encouraged to review the Draft Phase 1 Early Restoration Plan and submit comments on the proposed projects. Your continued input is important to the Early Restoration process as it helps the Trustees to further identify your concerns, and to ensure that draft and final documents address relevant issues. Tuesday, January 31, 2012 Wednesday, February 1, 2012 Thursday, February 2, 2012 On December 14, 2011, the Deepwater Horizon Natural Resource Damage Assessment Trustees released the Deepwater Horizon Draft Phase I Early Restoration Plan and Environmental Assessment for public input and suggestions. It is the first in an anticipated series of plans to begin restoration for injuries to natural resources and services resulting from the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and related response activities. The draft plan describes the eight initial projects proposed to receive funding from the $1 billion Early Restoration agreement announced by the Trustees and BP on April 21, 2011.
