Meeting On Draft Regulations For Alternative Oyster Culture Activities

Baton Rouge, La. – Oct. 22, 2012 – Draft regulations for alternative oyster culture activities will be discussed on Oct. 25, 2012 at the University of New Orleans’ Advanced Technology Center. Officials with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF), and the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) will discuss draft regulations and answer questions from stakeholders and members of the public. All interested parties are invited to attend, inquire about the regulations and suggest potential changes.

Act 293 of the 2012 Louisiana Legislature authorized LDWF to permit alternative oyster culture activities. A portion of the act required LDWF to promulgate regulations for alternative oyster culture permits.
