Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection and Restoration ACT Task Force

CWPPRA or the “Breaux Act” is federal legislation enacted in 1990 to identify, prepare and fund construction of coastal wetlands restoration projects.  The program is managed by the C.W.P.P.R.A. Task Force composed of the State of Louisiana, Governor’s Office of Coastal Activities, and five Federal agencies: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service(USFWS), USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration -National Marine Fisheries Service, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
