Max Zander passed away on May 14, 2009. He was 88 years-old.

Considered one of the most influential forces in the history of the New Orleans wine business, Max was the first to educate and culture our city on wine. For his dedication to the wine industry, New Orleans, and the WYES/ DORIGNAC'S WINE AUCTION - Max Zander we honor you, with an award named after you, the WYES MAX ZANDER AWARD.
